I KNOW ---- One of the best catchphrases of broke people.
I know, I know, I know.
If you knew so much, then why are you still so far from financial freedom?
I know, I know.
But you're still saving because you want to spend?
You just want to scrape by, and be just comfortable? Big LOL.
I know, I know.
But you're stuck on salary, relaxing with the hope that you're receiving the same amount of money, every month.
If you knew so much, you would know that your finances are in a big aquarium of unaware piranha fishes. The only thing keeping them unaware; the economy. Any small depression, inflation, or fall in the economic conditions of the country, then boom! The fishes attack. You might say, "I earn a lot of income, so, my savings would be sufficient for me after retirement" You're living in la-la land my friend. Even if you have a business, and you're not saving for investments, your money would be blown away, as quickly as it came, once you start spending from your savings.
Here's what I believe in: The amount of income you earn, is not what makes you rich, it's what you do with that money that does.
You can never get wealthy by being comfortable with being comfortable. You have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, if you want to be a success. It's those who have self-discipline, (those who do the things required for success, even when they don't feel like it) that get rich ---- really rich. I'm talking about legal money here. One book I enjoyed reading, and recommend to you, is "Secrets of the millionaire mind" by T. Harv. Eker
You and I would be happy, if you stopped thinking you knew everything, and tried your best to learn more about the little you think you already know.
Here's another thing I believe in: If you think you're always RIGHT, you'd be LEFT behind.
There are a lot of things I want to tell you, but I love keeping my posts, short. Decide what you want. Do you want to get rich, or keep being comfortable? I'll end with the words of Thomas Carlyle

LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY, EVEN IF WE MIGHT HAVE CONFLICTING OPINIONS
As a manager, it's very important to:
1. Listen to how your members of staff feel. Always give them a listening ear. From what they have to say, you have a very high chance of learning a thing or two from them. There might be something you're not doing right. Remember that one of your roles, is to ensure that they have good working conditions. Their welfare is to be taken care of, by you, for the best results. Opening your minds, and listening for feedbacks, is one thing every good modern manager should do.
2. Establish a reward system. There's nothing like being motivated to do better next time. It's only OK to be very strict in criticizing your workers, if you greatly reward, and appreciate those who have impressed you on the job. The workers are human beings, and not machines. Even machines get rewarded by being serviced, to put them in the best shape.
P.S: It is very imperative that you carry out performance appraisals occasionally, to fish out the competent and incongruent workers. Set a disciplinary system to deal with the incongruent ones. This could be probation, suspension, sack, or if you feel the person is out of order because he/she has worked for donkey years, and can no longer produce the desired results, then you can retire such person with wonderful benefits as a 'thank you' bonus.
Then, find out measures or create a reward system to appreciate the industrious ones, the ones who impress you on the job. This could be promotion, all expense paid seminars, workshops, lectures, and symposia, extra leave and vacation days/hours etc. There are many more ways to inspire your workers to do not just more, but better.
3. Trainings. I'll stop with this one. Please, and please, endeavour to send your employees for outdoor training sessions (and indoor training sessions too, to equip them with enough skills to fill vacant positions within the organization. This is so you don't overstaff, and recruit too many people that your payroll system won't be able to accommodate)
Help them learn what it is like to be competent workers, and to get full knowledge of general workplace ethics. Each worker should know how their relationships with you, as a manager, their coworkers, and customers, should work.
This is where I have to end. Endeavour to read. Even though this might be basic knowledge, or something you already know, don't ignore it. It might serve as a reminder to some people, and as new knowledge to others. I would also acknowledge your contributions, as we all are learning (it is an endless process).
